The Hillsong church founder, Brian Houston, has broken a months-long silence with a video broadcast on social media as he prepares to fight a charge he concealed child sexual abuse crimes committed by his father.

Houston on Thursday morning re-affirmed his commitment to contest the charge he concealed from New South Wales police child sexual abuse perpetrated by his disgraced father, Frank, in the 1960s and 1970s.
